Crystal Palace boss Hodgson goes for Arsenal midfielder Wilshere

Crystal Palace have joined the race for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Mirror says Wilshere, 26, has been told he will not be a guaranteed starter under new boss Unai Emery and now faces a major dilemma over whether to sign a new deal at the Emirates.

That has alerted several clubs and Palace boss Roy Hodgson is keen to take him to Selhurst Park, having worked with him at England.

Wilshere has been offered a deal worth £110,000-a-week - plus a £65,000 win bonus at Arsenal - but knows that he may be a fringe player rather than a starter.

The deal has been improved from the original offer and Arsenal were confident that he would stay - only for Emery to leave him with a major dilemma.
