Nick Carle's manage at Crystal Palace, Neil Warnock believes the red he received a red card in a midweek match against Birmingham. The Australian midfielder was given a straight red in the 76th minute of the Championship clash and is set to miss at least a further two matches but Warnock says it shouldn't have been that way.

"We don't think it was sending-off, we think he took the ball. But it was consistent with the ref's performance," he told BBC Sport.

"It was a pity because I thought the lads did well tonight. I'd like to say what I feel - but I better not."
