Crystal Palace boss Allardyce: What happened between Klopp and Sakho...?

Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce admits he'd like to keep hold of on-loan Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.

The Frenchman is not available to play against his parent club this weekend, with managers Sam Allardyce and Jurgen Klopp admitting he will be missed.

Allardyce said: "We've managed to capitalise hugely on the fact that he decided to come to Crystal Palace. You have to give Mama a lot of credit for coming to a club that looked like it was doomed for relegation and showing his worth and ability and skill in what was a struggling side when he first came.

"He's been one of the reasons why we have pulled around such a dramatic recovery in the last six games and why we have picked up so many points. He's been a key figure in there.

"Whatever happened between him and Jurgen [Klopp, Liverpool manager] is between him and Jurgen. We've benefited from that. What happens in the future, when the loan runs out, only time will tell. Our first priority is we have to make sure we're safe as quickly as possible.

"Would we like Mama Sakho? Yes. Would we talk about it now? No, because we're not safe. When we're safe we will maybe talk about it then and many other players."
