Crystal Palace boss Allardyce keen for more backroom changes

Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce is keen to upgrade his backroom staff.

The Eagles boss has made a number of changes behind the scenes since taking charge of Palace back in December, with several additions to his backroom staff, including assistant manager Sammy Lee, goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson and head of performance Ryland Morgans.

But Allardyce has not ruled out making further changes this summer, adding that he sees a good backroom staff as key to helping the club progress next season.

"That would be depending on how well we recruit, on what target we feel we may be able to achieve, what size are the budgets to spend and improve on all areas of the club, particularly the backroom staff, which are most important to me," he said, when asked what may be a realistic target for Palace next season.

"The backroom staff are of far greater importance to me than an extra player sometimes, because they're the ones who deliver, and help the players deliver on a regular basis.

"They are the ones who try and prevent the player from getting injured. It's a whole football department to try and improve."
