Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce insists a deal for Arsenal fullback Carl Jenkinson is still on.

Allardyce has struggled to bring in the players he needs this month, with his side level on points with third-bottom Hull going into today's match against Everton.

"After 21 games we have only got 16 points and the suggestion is that the squad is not good enough or hasn't been good enough up to now," said Allardyce, who wants at least as many points as games played.

"I can make it better. I hope I can, but new players will help a great deal."
