Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Ajax defender Mitchell Dijks, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

Dijks has been attracting the interest from a host of clubs in England in recent times and it was claimed that Leicester City and Newcastle United were currently leading the race to sign the Dutch left-back.

Now according to recent reports, it has been claimed that Palace are showing interest in Dijks and manager Alan Pardew is looking to land the 23-year-old as competition for the inconsistent Pape Souare next season.
