Crystal Palace set to beat Watford in the race to sign Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, according to reports from the Croydon Advertiser.

Palace have been in the market to sign a new goalkeeper this month and they were believed to have been competing against their Premier League rival in the race to sign Getafe custodian Vicente Guaita.

Now in an update to the story, it has been revealed that Palace have managed to beat off competition from Watford for Guaita and the 31-year-old is currently in London to finalise a move to Selhurst Park.
