Cruzeiro president Gilvan Tavares has confirmed interest in Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

Maicon expects to leave Inter this summer.

And Tavares told Fcinter1908.it: "I can tell you that our interest is real, but to take Maicon from Inter our chances are virtually nil.

"I explain better, Maicon has a contract with Inter and we cannot afford to pay it, he is priced too high. If hypothetically the player was free or was free from constraint, we would welcome him with open arms, of course."
