Cruzeiro vice-president Marcio Rodrigues has announced Lucas Silva's deal with Real Madrid is "closed".Lucas Silva had previously left the Cruzeiro squad in Toca de la Raposa II and passed a Real medical in Belo Horizonte.
Rodrigues told ESPN: "The deal is closed and will be announced on Thursday (Brazil time)."
He continued: "There was nothing else we could do. There comes a time when the player wants to leave because their agent is putting on pressure with the high salaries they're paid Europe."
The agreement was struck after a meeting held on Wednesday between the club's president and Luiz Rocha, Lucas Silva's representative.
