Former Manchester United striker Jordi Cruyff has warned Everton over their reliance on the loan market.
Cruyff believes Everton could eventually become victims of their own success in the loan market.
"It's interesting because the more successful you are with loan players the more you grow," he told the Liverpool Echo. "Then maybe the parent clubs will think, 'Wait a minute these are our rivals. They're in the same league so we better not loan them players'.
"Although you must also consider that other clubs can rely on their loan players not being allowed to play against them, and they know they will help (Everton) take points off other sides they're fighting against. It can go two ways."
