Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is still undecided over the future of striker Peter Crouch.
The People says Benitez is concerned that Tom Hicks and George Gillett will have the key say on whether Crouch stays or goes with Newcastle and West Ham also keen.
Benitez and the owners are heading for a fresh row over Crouch's future when they meet later this month, particularly if Manchester City follow through with a £12million bid for the England striker in January.
Crouch has 18 months left on his contract and it isn't clear whether he'll get a new deal.
If Benitez could pocket City's money to buy a new forward he may decide to let the lanky hitman go after paying Southampton £7m for him.
