Peter Crouch insists Tottenham are the best equipped this season to break into the top four. Crouch said: "It'd be a surprise if anyone breaks into the top four.

"They've been so consistent over the last five or six years, whatever it is, so yes, it's very difficult.

"But if anyone can do it, we can. We've got a fantastic squad and I think we've got a belief this year that we can get as close as we can to them. To come on you just try and have an impact as a sub and I could have had a few.

"I think one went over the line or was on the line and another one hit the bar.

"But I was really pleased to get my first goal here at White Hart Lane."

Crouch added: "I'm confident I'm going to play a big part in Tottenham's future and hopefully I can play a majority of games as well.

"You can play great football like we did at Hull, where we were fantastic, but sometimes you've got to dig in and get a result.

"I think if you're going to be a successful side that's what you need to do, and it was a case of that today."
