Crouch tells Spurs boss Redknapp: Pair me with Pav and we beat Arsenal

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch says they can beat Arsenal by playing two upfront. When Spurs beat Blackburn week Roman Pavlyuchenko played alongside Crouch and both strikers were on target in the 4-2 win.

Crouch hopes Harry Redknapp sticks with the 4-4-2 formation at the Emirates stadium and said: "I've been playing with Rafa quite a bit. A lot of the time when you're playing one up and Rafa just off me it's quite hard.

"You're up against two central defenders and a lot of space opens up for others because you're taking the defenders away, trying to hold up play and bring others in."

Spurs have not beaten a 'top four' side since 1983 and Crouch said: "If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. You'll be there or thereabouts if you beat everyone apart from the top four but I think if you really want to have a major impact on the league you have to go to places like Arsenal and pick up points. There's enough talent in our dressing room to do that.

"We're a lot closer to them than we have been for a long time. Against the best we seem to raise our game so hopefully that will be the case They're a great side but I believe that on our day we can beat anyone."
