Crouch praises professional Tottenham

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has heaped praise on his teammates for not getting sucked into the dirty tactics used by AC Milan in Tuesday night's Champions League clash.

Spurs ran out 1-0 winners at the San Siro thanks to Crouch's 80th minute strike and was proud of the boys after they did not react to the provocation of the Rossoneri crowd and players.

"There was a bit of provocation, no doubt," said Crouch. "I think top players don't like losing and when they do, they get riled and do anything to try and rattle you.

"I think we were very professional, didn't rise to anything and just got on with the game. I think that's credit to the boys."

"The Flamini foul was a bad tackle and his reaction afterwards, smiling about it and trying to lift the crowd, did frustrate us.

"Gattuso was happy to wind up anyone who would listen, to be honest. We just didn't get involved with it. There was a bit of a fracas at the end but Gattuso has done that throughout his career, he's always tried to wind people up, and thankfully we didn't rise to it.

"To go away from home to a place like Milan, when it's our first time in the competition and to be as professional as we were says so much for us now."
