Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has shrugged off speculation that he may be forced out of Anfield following the arrivals of new strikers Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel.

"When a new striker is brought in there's always going be speculation that another one will have to make way, it's inevitable. But I no longer take any notice of it. I've spoke to the manager and he's reassured me that I'm in his plans," said Crouch.

"We'll have to see what happens but hopefully I'll have a big part to play this season."
