Crouch defends Villa keeper Carson after disastrous England performance

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch jumped to the defence of England teammate Scott Carson after his disappointing performance in last night's 3-2 defeat to Croatia.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper was at fault for Croatia's opening goal and many believed he could have done better for the visitors' winner, but Crouch insisted: "I have trained with Scott and played with him for England.

"He is a fantastic goalkeeper. I think he will be disappointed tonight but he is still a fantastic goalkeeper and a fantastic prospect."
