Crouch always confident goals would flow for Spurs

Peter Crouch knew it was only a matter of time before Tottenham started to win convincingly.

Crouch scored his first league goal of the season in their 4-2 success over Blackburn at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Gareth Bale opened the scoring in the first half, Roman Pavlyuchenko headed home the second after missing a penalty to make it 2-0 before half-time, Crouch slid home the third and Bale notched his second of the game in the 75th minute.

Rovers reduced arrears with two late goals but Crouch was full of pride over the way Spurs played.

"We played some great stuff and it was always a matter of time before we beat a team convincingly with the way we've been playing," said Crouch, who has now joined up with the England squad for Wednesday's international friendly against France.

"We've been passing the ball about fantastically well, creating chances and the goals went in this time, so that was pleasing.

"Blackburn had to change their system after half an hour and that was down to how we were playing.

"My goal was important, but I'm more interested with the result first and foremost. I think it was a great win, we played fantastically well and fully deserved the three points."
