Crook leaves Norwich City for Australia return

Ian Crook has returned to Australia after his successful coaching stint at Norwich City.

The former Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets assistant coach was part of Paul Lambert's backroom team as the Canaries won promotion back to the Championship last season.

Crook is now keen to be involved again in Australian football after fulfilling a dream to work for the Canaries.

The former Norwich and Tottenham midfielder was linked with a controversial switch to Notts County last week.

A Carrow Road source told tribalfootball.com: "We couldn't believe it when we saw Crookie's name in the paper. Why would he be leaving us for Notts County?!! But after a few phone calls, he quickly assured everyone at the club that he was returning to Australia."

Crook's name was linked with Meadow Lane as former Sydney FC coach Pierre Littbarski had applied for the Magpies job. The pair worked together at Sydney FC.
