Crook: Avispa Fukuako on track for promotion

Sapporo is the run away leader in J2, but Littbarski's men are now only three points behind second-placed Kyoto and face them this weekend. Avispa Fukuako is now unbeaten in eight games and have come back from a 14 points deficit to Kyoto. Avispa beat Yamagata 3-0 in their last game.

Littbarski's assistant coach, former Norwich and Tottenham defender Ian Crook told tribalfootball.com "The season is really starting to gather momentum for Avispa and the hard work Pierre has put the team through is really paying off.

"Our Australian defender Alvin Ceccoli has done really well for us and is one of our important players. Avispa is a massive club that really belongs back in the First Division and while no one really expected us to bounce straight back up after last year's relegation, there is now a real belief with everyone at the Club that we can get into the automatic promotion spots, but even if we have to go through the playoffs, we can get through."
