The Los Angeles Galaxy have waived five players in the last 24 hours. Defenders Brandon McDonald, Mike Randolph and Troy Roberts, midfielder Ely Allen and goalkeeper Steve Cronin have all been cut loose.
Cronin made a career-high 22 starts last season, compiling a 6-9-6 record with a 2.05 goals against average before missing the final two months of the season because of a fractured right hand.
Roberts played in 61 games for the team, including a career-high 17 last season. Randolph appeared in 39 games over the past two years with the Galaxy, totaling four assists.
Allen and McDonald were drafted by the Galaxy last season, and started strongly before injuries derailed their seasons.
