Crocked Spurs defender Vertonghen snapped crowd surfing

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has been snapped crowd surfing.

The London Evening Standard says Vertonghen has been caught crowd surfing at a Belgian dance festival, despite admitting he is recovering from an ankle injury.

The Belgian international, who is yet to meet up with the Spurs squad have been given an extended break following the World Cup, revealed on Belgian radio that as well as being offered a new contract by the club, was also recovering from an ankle injury.

"I walked into the World Cup match against Argentina with an ankle injury," Vertonghen told Belgian broadcasters, Radio 1.

"But I want to treat it carefully, because last season I was suffering from one injury to another, I definitely want to avoid that."

Vertonghen, who attended the Tomorrowland festival with Napoli winger Dries Mertens bounced on the spot before leaping into the crowd.
