Crocked midfielder Gera grateful for West Brom support

Injured West Bromwich Albion midfielder Zoltan Gera has thanked the club for helping him through the initial stages of his recovery.

The Hungarian sustained a serious knee injury last month and will be sidelined for a lengthy amount of time but he has remained positive with help from positive Baggies people at The Hawthorns.

"I didn't even think about retiring (after sustaining the new injury)," Gera told Hungarian daily Nemzeti Sport.

"What I thought about was to believe that it wasn't a serious injury. But then it came to light after the MRI examination that it was serious.

"I don't believe you should think the worst immediately. All that happened is that my injury was followed by another one, I was unlucky. I'll be out for a long time but I'll be back and stronger than ever.

"At West Brom everyone knows me and my personality and everyone knows what to expect from me. What annoys me is that the club signed me as an injured player but they were hopeful that I would help the team with great play.

"I would like to express my gratitude for their trust, for their money and for everything that I got (from West Brom)."
