Wayne Rooney has returned to England after injuring himself during Manchester United's preseason tour of the Far East.
The 27-year old forward has sustained a hamstring injury that will sideline him for a month and has been forced to fly back to Manchester from Bangkok.
"Following a scan this evening on a hamstring injury sustained in training, it has been decided that Wayne Rooney should return home immediately for further assessment and rehabilitation," read a statement from the club.
"It is anticipated he will be unavailable for selection for a month."
