Arsenal central defender Laurent Koscielny is turning to television and video games in his attempt to pass the time during his recovery.

Koscielny suffered a serious Achilles injury during the club's Europa League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid. It ruled him out of the World Cup.

He is certain to miss the start of the coming season too.

"My programme? Television, crosswords and Nintendo," he said to France Football when asked about his recovery.

"I am now wearing a boot, which allows me to walk on crutches.

"In three months I hope to resume light jogging. In five months I could certainly retouch the ball."
