Niko Kranjcar believes stopping former Tottenham teammate Gareth Bale will help Croatia beat Wales next week.
Kranjcar and his Croatian mates head to Swansea on Tuesday to meet Bale and the Welsh Dragons in Group A qualifying and the Dynamo Kiev midfielder has highlighted the importance of keeping the Spurs ace quiet.
"We don't talk on the telephone or anything like that but I do follow him and his games," Kranjcar told Croatian daily Novi list.
"At this moment Gareth is the only one who can be compared with the two best players in the world - Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"So we will have to be very careful, we must stop him at any price. He can lead Wales to glory by himself."
Croatia sit second in their group, equal on 10 points with leaders Belgium, whilst Wales are second bottom on just three points and desperately need a win to keep their already faint qualification hopes alive.
