Croatia fined by FIFA for racist behaviour of fans

Racist behaviour by Croatian fans in the World Cup qualifier against England has led FIFA to fine the Croatian Football Federation over £14,000. England striker Emile Heskey was singled out by sections of the crowd at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb as Fabio Capello's side romped to a 4-1 victory on 10th September.

The Football Association lodged an official complaint with Fifa.

A statement from Fifa said: "Racism has no place in football.

"Fifa is determined to continue broadcasting this message around the globe and deploying all of the means at its disposal to eliminate this form of discrimination."

The Croatia federation was punished in June for fans' racism at the European Championship.
