Midfielder Cristiano Zanetti returned to the field for the first time this season in the 0-0 draw with Bate Borisov overnight.

A series of thigh injuries had plagued Zanetti since July and his return to the side was a welcome sight for coach Claudio Ranieri.

Speaking after the match, Ranieri said: "After four months, basically in fact last season, Zanetti could not be expected to do brilliantly. In the first half he struggled a little under the tempo and pressure of the BATE midfielders, but he got better and found his rhythm, so it will just take a little time.
