Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Real Madrid training

Cristiano Ronaldo was back in training at Real Madrid on Sunday.

The forward limped off the field in the closing stages of the Spanish giants' 3-0 win over Villarreal on April 20 and has been absent for the following three matches, including the goalless draw against Manchester City last week.

But Real announced their captain had returned to training ahead of the return tie against Manuel Pellegrini's men at the Bernabeu.

The 31-year-old trained with his team-mates for the first half of the session before working individually for the remainder.

Prior to his injury, Ronaldo had played every minute in this season's Primera Division, scoring 31 times.
