Cristiano has plenty of motivation to land title with Adelaide
Adelaide United striker Cristiano says he and the squad are highly motivated to have a crack at the A-League title despite their performance on the weekend. The Reds face an in-form Queensland Roar this Saturday night at Hindmarsh Stadium after being demolished 4-0 by the Melbourne Victory in the semi-final second leg and after the rant by coach Aurelio Vidmar after the loss, it seemed as though the campaign was falling apart.
But Cristiano says everybody is united and motivated to win the title.
"Everyone is motivated. I came from Holland to win the prize, not to be second or third," Cristiano said.
"Today everybody was motivated to train and everyone feels very well and is just focused on the game on Saturday.
"They (Queensland) have a very good team and play very well. I think we have to be patient and not try to score in the first minute because if you go with everyone forward trying to score you can concede goals," he added.
"But when we have an opportunity to score, we have to score."
