Uruguayan midfielder Cristian Rodriguez says Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is outshining Lionel Messi.

Rodriguez has just signed for Independiente.

"Today, Luis Suarez is more than Messi," said the footballer, starting a new adventure at Independiente de Avellaneda, after abandoning Parma.

The former Atletico Madrid man praised his Uruguay team-mate.

"He's in a moment of form," he told TyC Sports. "I feel proud of him because on top of being Uruguayan like me, he's a team-mate with the national side."
