Crewe chief Dario Gradi was delighted to see on-loan Tottenham striker Lee Barnard score on debut in their 2-0 victory over Huddersfield.

Gradi said: "The new boy made a big difference, especially in the first half. As soon as he got in with that ball and cut across his opponent I had no doubt he was going to score. He's a good player and he gave us more of a presence than we've had for a while."
