Crewe boss Davis urges Man Utd, Liverpool target Clayton to delay exit

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has warned Max Clayton against leaving this summer.

The England youth striker is interesting Liverpool and Manchester United.

"Players develop at different times and perhaps he sees Nick (Powell) going on (to Manchester United) and doing what he has done but you have to be patient. He needs another year or so with us. In my opinion he is not ready," said Davis.

"If Max plays well in our team and scores goals then any move would take care of itself."
