Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis remains keen on Manchester City striker Jordi Hiwula.
The Sentinel says the 19-year-old striker remains the number one target for the Alex who had hoped to wrap up a loan deal for the front man this month.
Davis said: "I have spoken to Manchester City about that. They are away, but have left one or two behind.
"One of those who we want to come here has been left behind, but wants to train in and around the club at the moment so we are going to have to wait.
"That is his prerogative and that's what he has chosen to do."
