Cresswell backing boss Adams at struggling Sheff Utd

Richard Cresswell is confident Micky Adams is the right man to lead Sheffield United to safety in the English Championship. Adams took charge of his boyhood club in late December, but he is still waiting for his first win as Blades manager.

A 1-0 defeat at relegation rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday left the Blades in the bottom three and there have already been calls for Adams to be replaced.

"We are all trying hard and working for him," said Cresswell. "He is the right man for the job and we have to stick behind him.

"He is definitely the right man to get us out of this. There is a long way to go and everybody knows that the table now won't necessarily stay like that until the end of the season.

"There will be some twists and turns before the end.

"It is hard because we have gone a lot of games without winning a match. But we have to keep believing and a lot of things do change in football."
