Crerand: There's Man Utd's Fletcher then daylight in terms of Scottish talent

Manchester United hero Paddy Crerand feels Darren Fletcher could eventually join him in the Scottish Hall of Fame.

Admitted to the Hall of Fame alongside former England and Rangers captain Terry Butcher and the late duo of RS McColl and Ronnie Simpson, Crerand believes it will be a struggle to find new entrants in 20 years' time.

Asked who, of the current crop, might one day have their portrait on the walls of Hampden, Crerand said: "Darren Fletcher has a great chance.

"Maybe the expectation on Darren, playing for Manchester United, is a little more from the Scotland fans. I remember Kenny Dalglish used to get a similar hard time."
