Craig insists St Johnstone priority is SPL survival

St Johnstone midfielder Liam Craig insists the Saints are not even contemplating a top six charge, but merely starting next season in the top flight. The McDiarmid Park outfit secured a point at Hibs on Saturday after Craig's penalty five minutes from time cancelled out Anthony Stokes' early spot-kick.

In their first season back in the top-flight, the Perth club have acquitted themselves well, especially against Hibs whom they have beaten twice in all competitions, and Craig insists preserving their SPL status is the primary concern.

He said: "We are just taking every game as it comes, at the start of the season we would have been happy to finish eleventh, anything above that is a bonus.

"It's not easy to come to places like Easter Road but we have taken a point and we are delighted with that.

"It's possible (to get into the top six), it's okay having the games in hand but you have to win them.

"We just take each game as it comes, we will enjoy the weekend and look forward to Motherwell who are on a great run just now and hopefully we can beat them next week."
