Rafael will not play again this season after being rule out with cracked ribs.
The Brazilian full-back was injured while playing for Manchester United's U21 earlier in the week and it has since been revealed that he has suffered three cracked ribs meaning he will play no further part this campaign.
Rafael, who was caught by a knee from Leicester City's Anthony Knockaert, is set to be sold in the summer as he is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal.
He joined United from Fluminense in 2008 and has made 170 appearances for the famous Manchester club.
