Coyle urges his Bolton team to step up

Bolton manager Owen Coyle is remaining positive about the clubs survival plight.

The Trotters dropped back into the relegation zone following last night's 4-1 home loss to Tottenham but Coyle is preferring to put an optimistic spin on things with two games left to save themselves.

"I have said to the players, 'You have got to stand up and be counted and show your character in adversity, and you have got to come through'," he said ahead of the weekend's meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

"That is what I always say, and the real stars always shine brighter.

"That is when you have to stand up and be counted and that is what Sunday brings.

"You have to be ready to show that you are brave, and I don't mean charging about the field. I am talking about being in possession of the ball, trusting yourself.

"We know we have enough quality in that squad to go and get two results but the first one, being Sunday, is a massive game - our biggest game of the season and we have to be ready for it."
