Coyle to give Bolton youngster every opportunity to impress

Bolton boss Owen Coyle will give young forward Danny Ward the chance to force himself into his first-team plans. The 18-year-old has attracted a host of admirers following a successful loan spell last season at Swindon, who reached the League One play-off final.

Ward will travel with Wanderers on their pre-season tour to America, during which Coyle will run the rule over the youngster.

"I am going to have a right good look at him, which is only fair," he told the Bolton Evening News.

"He did very well at Swindon last year and there has been about 10 enquiries for Danny to go out on loan again.

"What I have said to them all is that I am going to have a look at Danny to see if he is going to be involved in my first team. Having made that decision, I will take it from there.

"I want young players in my team and Danny has got an opportunity to do that. Ultimately, it's up to him how well he does."
