Coyle admits Vaz Te chose Bolton stay over Hamilton move

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle says it was Ricardo Vaz Te's decision to reject a loan move to Hamilton Academicals on Monday.

The former Portugal Under-21 international turned down a late move to Hamilton to stay and fight for a first-team place under Coyle at the Reebok.

“Ricardo is still here,” the manager confirmed. “Hamilton, from the SPL as well, came on to enquire whether he was available until the end of the season.

“He wanted to stay put, and that happens. I don’t want to push or railroad anyone into it.

“There was an opportunity for a young player who had been out of the scheme of things to go and play football.

“He maybe felt it was a bit rushed, being that it came on the last day of the window.

“He decided to stay put, and that’s up to him.”
