Coventry striker Alex Nimely hopes for Man City future

Alex Nimely was outstanding for Coventry City in their 3-1 win over Middlesbrough.

Manchester City striker Nimely, on loan at rock-bottom Coventry, scored a superb goal and created two others as he came back to haunt Boro boss Tony Mowbray.

Nimely has made just one Premier League appearance and one in the Europa League for City.

And he said: "Roberto Mancini told me, 'Chances here at the moment are limited so you need to go out there to show people what you can do.'

"I've two-and-a-half years left on my City contract - but for the rest of this season I want to help Coventry stay up.

"Playing in the Championship also helps me as I'm up against physical defenders. That's a great challenge and gives me experience.

"But I have to say playing alongside a big striker like Clive Platt today was a big pleasure. I've played alongside Roque Santa Cruz, who is similar, and that makes things easier for me."
