Coventry City have released former Chelsea star Joe Cole.

The former England international moved to the Sky Blues on loan in November last year and signed for the club permanently in January.

Coventry boss Tony Mowbray said: "I would like to place on record my personal thanks to Joe and everything he has done during his time with the club. He has been an excellent character to have around the football club through the season, and an exemplary example of how to be a professional footballer, both on the pitch and off it.

Cole has signed to play in Florida for North American Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies.
