Joe Cole is yet to hear from new Aston Villa boss Remi Garde.

Cole is currently on-loan with Coventry City.

"I'm 34 on Sunday and the way I play, certainly at the moment, I can't play two games in the space of three or four days," said Cole.

Asked if he's spoken to the newly appointed Villa boss, he said: “I've not had a chat with him yet. I can see why the club have appointed him and hopefully he'll be good for Villa.

"I'm still a Villa player so it's difficult to talk about them but let's hope the club can start picking up some results."
