Coventry kid James Maddison excited about Norwich move

James Maddison is excited by his move to Norwich City.

The 19-year-old joined from Coventry City, but has stayed with the League One Sky Blues on loan until the end of the season. Maddison, however, has now met up with Alex Neil and the Canaries' squad on a short visit to Colney and Carrow Road.

“I've been with Ricky (Martin) today and meeting all the staff and the players and the stadium and I'm really enjoying it so far," he told the club's official site. “Norwich City is a massive club and I am really looking forward to the challenge for next season. Right now, I have to focus on Coventry City but I am really looking forward to the summer.

“It was a hectic day. The deal only got done with a few minutes to go (to the deadline) but I am happy to be here now. I think this is the right club for me. They have a young, hungry manager who is going to have a good managerial career in the game and it was the right next step for me.

“I would like to think I am a player who gets supporters out of their seats. My career has been in that number 10, attacking, creative role. That is my preferred position; hopefully I can give the fans something to enjoy.

“It was really tough to leave Coventry City. I came through the academy system and it was my hometown club. I have gone through every stage of my development with Coventry."
