Newcastle United midfielder Gael Bigirimana is wanted back at former club Coventry City.

The Evening Chronicle says it is understood that Coventry City are interested in re-signing midfielder Bigirimana, who has been on international duty with Burundi and could feature in next week's World Cup qualifier against Chancel Mbemba's DR Congo.

The Sky Blues are looking for a defender but Bigirimana is an option for them after having success with Adam Armstrong.

Newcastle already have 10 players out on loan but they are now looking to try to strike deals for senior men to give them more room for maneouvre when the January business begins.
