New Coventry City boss Mark Robins hailed the performance of Manchester United youngster Reece Brown in defeat to Carlisle United.

Robins was disappointed to lose his first game as boss at the Ricoh Arena but found solace in the display of the on-loan defender.

"With the influx of new players and young players, we need to start to give them that guidance on how to perform to their best ability," Robins told Coventry's website.

"You need to be a man in this game. I think Brown did well today. He stepped up to the plate and he has won some good balls in the air with his distribution being pretty good as well."
