Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray is convinced Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong is the real deal.
The 19-year-old on-loan forward has netted 19 goals in 33 League One games this season, but he has failed to score in any of his last six outings.
But Mowbray, quoted in The Coventry Telegraph, said of Armstrong: “He seems to be going through one of those spells when the ball isn't quite running for him and that's part of his learning process.
“It's not always going to go rosy for him, it won't always be great headlines about him – Armstrong 'the wonderkid' – he'll have periods when he can't score.
“It might help Adam changing his environment for a while, going away with the national set-up.
“It might refresh him so hopefully he'll come back ready to bang in some more goals.
“There's no mystery; he just has to keep working hard – off the ball as well as on it.
“Goals are great but it's just as important for me that he helps the team out of possession, gets into the right positions.
“We don't want him standing on the half-way line thinking that he's going to win a foot-race and score a goal because sometimes you can go game after game after game without doing that."
