Daniel Cousin's return to Rangers is now clouded after the club fell into administration yesterday.
The 35-year old Gabon striker was set to sign a second deal with the Ibrox club after initially playing for 'Gers in 2007 and 2008 but the paperwork was not submitted prior to administration.
The protocol for registering players has forced the Scottish Premier League to hold off on Cousin's inclusion in the Rangers squad with their new administrators to be notified of further happenings soon.
"The player has not yet been registered with the SPL and we intend to discuss that application with the administrators of Rangers FC this week.""The SPL can confirm the application has been received for the registration of Daniel Cousin," read a SPL statement.
