Former Olympique Marseille coach Roland Courbis is backing their move for Bacary Sagna.
Sagna, having come off contract at Manchester City over the summer, retains hope of landing a playing contract this season.
The 34 year-old has been linked with a return to France and Courbis says OM would be an ideal destination.
He told Le Phoceen: "It would be a very good idea, because he can play in all defensive positions. We cross our fingers, but if (Adil) Rami came to have a glitch, with the season he has had, then OM would struggle.
"A player like Sagna could allow us to sleep better in this case."
