Counago backs Ipswich to beat Hull for Campo

Ipswich striker Pablo Counago hopes the club can beat Hull City for Bolton midfielder Ivan Campo.

Campo, 34, watched Ipswich's 5-3 loss to West Ham on Monday night and is in discussions with manager Jim Magilton over a possible move.

Counago, who shares an agent with his countryman, committed his future to the Championship club by signing a new three-year deal and hopes the former Real Madrid star will do the same.

"I know Ivan a lot from Spain," he told the East Anglian Daily Times. "He has played for big clubs in big leagues and has won titles so he is an important player.

"There is an opportunity for him to sign here and he would be a great player to have.

"I'm happy that he has a chance and it would be a great thing if he signed for us."
